Blanket America Visits Lake Park, Florida

(March 17, 2010) Lake Park, Florida - Upon returning from a trip to Haiti (we are currently exploring the possibility of working with Haiti in response to a call from The Clinton Foundation, WorldVision, and the United Nations), Blanket America visited the Haitian-American community in Lake Park, Florida.  The blanket distribution was organized by, Haiti Vision, an organization committed to helping Haitian immigrants in Florida while bringing change to Haiti itself.The demand for the blankets was exceptional, underscoring the need in the Haitian community during these difficult times. The entire donation was distributed in only minutes, allowing workers barely enough time to unpack the blankets. The prospect of working with Haiti has made us more conscious of the needs of our own Haitian community as well. Blanket America hopes to visit Lake Park again soon.
